In 1972, America was a dream for me young French. In San Francisco on one day in a bus, I sat where there was a free place, not knowing that the bottom of the bus was reserved for the blacks.
I said to the angry driver that in France, in buses, blacks and whites sat some next to the others.
Then today that you, americans, elected a black president, I thank you for it because my dream came true.
